September 18th, 2011: An Opera Grows in Brooklyn On a program presented by American Opera Projects, OOT and The Brooklyn Book Festival, Pamela Stein will be premiering two new works by composer Daniel Felsenfeld on an an evening of vocal music based on texts by renowned and up-and-coming Brooklyn writers. Guest-curated by author and composer Daniel Felsenfeld as part of an evening of works by 12 composers based on poems, short stories, plays, and even cookbooks with Brooklyn origins. The show will be held on Sunday, September 18th at 7 pm at Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn’s DUMBO neighborhood. Preceding the show at 6 pm, will be a discussion with critic Robert Levine about his new book, “Weep, Shudder, Die: A Guide to Loving Opera.” Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
