December 8th, 2014 |Launch of Your Music Bus| Drew University
Your Music Bus is the latest creation of Pamela Stein and composers Lisa Bielawa and Aaron Jay Kernis. After a discussion about the needs of college composition students, Lisa, Aaron and Pamela came up with an idea that would provide these students with readings of their work, masterclass-style feedback, and instructive interaction with highly skilled new music performers, all at a cost to the schools or programs less than what they would pay to hire an established outside ensemble to give a formal performance of student works. Your Music Bus had it’s launch at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey on December 8th, where composition students of Dr. Trevor Weston worked with Bielawa, Stein, violinist Alex Shiozaki and cellist Clarice Jensen. Dr. Weston said of Your Music Bus, “This ensemble will truly help any music program fortunate enough to use them. Thank you again for inspiring my students!”
